Bud, Boardwalk Empire is still set in the very early twenties; Prohibition is king and there's not even a forecast of the 30s depression.
First let me say that I am addicted to Boardwalk Empire, and I dig the old recordings along with my old pal Vince Giordano and his band. But, if I'm not mistaken, the action is supposed to be occurring in 1931, right? So why all the acoustic records? Shouldn't we be hearing stuff by Gene Austin, Russ Columbo, Annette Hanshaw and early electric bands?
Just wondering.
Bud
