I have ledger images of all of Smith's sessions, and there's no vocal assistants listed for "Taxi," "Me-ow," "Yellow Dog Blues," etc. Rust lists Smith doing the laughs on "Yellow Dog Blues" but this is not indicated in the ledger, and I've never heard Smith's voice to compare.
