[78-L] eBay question

I want to give someone a discount because he bid on ten similar items via "buy 
it now", but when I entered the agreed on amount (10% of the total) on the 
invoice, it came back with red lettering advising me that the discount had to 
be less than $7.00. That was also the amount I'd put for shipping, or is that 
just coincidental? And how do I give this guy the discount, short of charging 
him the full amount and then refunding via Paypal?

(There, no cute substitutions.)
