Actually, just 'L' begins June or July 1942...right around the time  
of Bing's "White Christmas." As I recall it, I think the wax of Decca  
18429 A says 'L' but the label says 'DLA'. (Checking the Dock-o'- 
the-'Bay...yep, right about the label at least...)

Dunno about postwar, but prewar Decca Chicago matrices are in a (C-) 
9000 series, which soon became a 90000 series.
