Hi DJD,
Please send details of the VICTORY releases - and some background on the label ??? THANKS

Here are a couple of releases on WALDORF of DINAH WASHINGTON:
WASHINGTON, DINAH - dinah washington sings - 7inch (EP) 7.54 ?
 7inch (EP)
Waldorf MH-174 7"-EP
  no details

Waldorf 2 7"-EP
"Wise Woman Blues & Blues For A Day & All Or Nothing"
"Beggin' Mama Blues & Pacific Coast Blues & Chewin' Mama Blues"

I'm copying this to the ARSC list - hope some there, not on 78L may be able to add to our knowledge.

There appear to be a number of re-issues of APOLLO material on various subsidiary labels of Grand Award (Enoch Light), including
Waldorf (Waldorf Music Hall), Audition, Colortone, 18 top hits. Also on the POPULAR and VICTORY labels.
These include Gordon MacRae, Dean Martin and Dinah Washington.

Basic questions:
Were these licensed or sold by Apollo? What is the current disposition of Apollo holdings ?? (some have been issued
by DELMARK, RELIC, and BEAR FAMILY.
IF you have these releases, what information is contained in their annotations about the chain of ownership ???
What Apollo master are you aware of which have been issued on any of the Enoch Light labels?
Background information wanted for Popular and Victory labels ??

Thanks!
Best wishes, Thomas.

I have Dean-o's Santa Lucia on Appollo. There are also some of his Apollo sides on the Victory 2-hits-per-side label.

Apollo? Yep, in 1946. He was also on Diamond & Embassy ecords that same year. Never heard or seen any of them-----Original
