It is even spookier than that. Back in the 70s I walked into his office
just after they had taken delivery of the whole catalog of French
Disques SERP LPs about WW II -- there were several dozen of them. On
top of the stack was an album with the large white lettered title "LES
WAFFEN S.S." Les was the article in German. 

I would have thought he would have gone back to being called Leslie.
