'Die Juxheirat' was an Operette composed by Franz Lehár, the libretto was written by Julius Bauer. 
Premiere was on December 21, 1904 at the 'Theater an der Wien' in Vienna.

The word 'Juxheirat' is a typical German word composition, made up of 'Jux' (from latin 'jocus' = joke, fun) and 
'Heirat' (marriage), i.e. ''Marriage for a Joke''. 
The plot of the operette is full of quid-pro-quos, mix-ups, games of disguise and misunderstandings. 
The disappointed girl who did not want to get married ends up 'by mistake' in a happy marriage.
