Basically he's correct.
The LP was born in the early 20th century, although it took some time: 
from 1932-1948. 1932 is pretty early, isn't it?
Technological innovations...yes, definitely.
Governmental restrictions...he means the enforced shellac exchange, I guess.
Marketing strategies...are always at hand.

What he misses though, is explaining the recording ban in the 1940's.
The rest is OK, considering it's written by a record company 
representative in the 21st century.
