Further to earlier postings regarding the Auction held last Friday, in Newbury UK. These items from the collection of the late Roger Thorne, who gathered them over many years, attracted collectors and dealers from far and wide.
The Auctioneers added eighteen percent to the hammer price - made up from commission and compulsory Government Tax. Those bidding on-line were required to add twenty-one percent. Below are a few examples of prices achieved - the commission and tax have been added to the hammer price. To arrive at a approximate US dollar figure, calculate $1.60c to the UK pound.
