Vic Meyers's Orch was (so far as I know) the first Seattle band to make
records. Vic himself was elected Lt. Governor of Washington in the 1932 FDR
landslide and served for 20 years, and later served two terms as Secretary
of State. he kept his hand in the band business until way into the
1950s...my dad subbed in his band on at least two occasions.
