[78-L] Raksin w/ Buck and Bubbles

Tim's idea of Raksin being there to MD for B+B is certainly a plausible one.
As far as playing clarinet, unfortunately he is no longer around to ask, but
one can't assume that just because he was orchestrating and musical
directing that he'd stopped playing professionally. Manny Albam was
originally a baritone saxophonist who became a busy arranger by 1950, but he
made a date for Ella Fitzgerald some years after he 'stopped' playing in big
bands (he may have been an arranger on the date, and somebody couldn't make
it at the last minute, who knows). Gerald Wilson also turns up as a trumpet
player on an occasional record after 1950 as well.
