[78-L] Amazon Vitaphone DVD sales!!

Many of these shorts were funded by donors who put up the money, another
group were paid for by WB themselves. Apparently most donors want to fund
either comedy or music shorts, hence the classical shorts sit waiting for
funding. One of the Gettys was going to fund all of the classical shorts
where there is a negative and a matching disc, but he died before a deal
could be finalized.

The Vitaphone project has all the information about this, including costs
for donors who want to contribute. As I remember it, it costs $5000 per reel
to create a new sound negative combining the two elements. That does not
include generating prints.
