I second that...awhile back, I acquired (after many years of
searching) a gold-print copy of Glenn Miller's Bluebird B-11042-B
"Ring Telephone, Ring" take 2 (purportedly only on "silver"-print
copies), only to open the package and find it snapped in half.
AAARGH! So I carefully super-glued it back together, applying the
adhesive sparingly, and only to the rim and runout areas. Got it to
play, and pulled a reasonable transfer off of it. Fortunately, I
shortly thereafter scored an unbroken copy (also gold-print!) but I
still have that broken-and-glued copy.

Same story for a copy of Bluebird B-5014 "Hold Me" by Little Jack
Little...nice copy, but in two pieces. It's glued together with super-
glue. Bad thing on this one is that it's badly under-recorded, so the
clicks are harder to clean up -- and a second copy continues to elude
me.

Finally, a Ralph Flanagan record from Canada (issued commercially
only there) arrived in four or five pieces. As Mike did above, I
glued it together and got it to play -- sorta. Fortunately, I have a
US-issued vinyl DJ pressing, but it would've been nice to have an
undamaged original Canadian issue...oh well. I'm sure there are some
on this list who would prefer the disc remain broken...<grin>

Don't be afraid of super-glue...just keep it away from the grooves
and use very sparingly. A little dab'll do ya. Oh, and it's gotta be
fresh; the stuff has a shelf-life of about six months.

Take care,

Joe
