And Fats would get royalties from Pat Boone's covers ONLY for the songs
that Fats himself wrote! But rock covers did sometimes give fame to the
original Black artist. Would anybody have ever gone back and paid
attention to Big Mama Thornton if Elvis had not recorded Hound Dog?
