I suppose if you file a flat on one edge while you've got them in the shop,
they don't roll off shelves as easily.

Although my record collection is inside the house, I do have a lot of 78s
out in my shop building, awaiting cleaning, culling, and filing.  The shop
is insulated, so its interior temperature ranges from about 10 - 80 degrees
F throughout the year.

Many of the 78s I've acquired have spent years if not many decades in barns
and sheds, subject to dust, bugs, mice and temperatures ranging from -30 to
105 F.  Certainly those aren't ideal conditions, but I haven't seen records
obviously damaged from the wide range of temperatures here in Wyoming.
