Hello all,

Last week found (in a furniture restorer's workshop) in Wiltshire, UK a couple of boxes of 78s.

Most are in clean condition but somewhat warped.   Odd things :-

A 12" single sided - white label - pressing of Emile Berliner's " Lord's Prayer "  presumably from the 5" disc.   So a twelve inch dia pressing, with about an inch or so of the recording, followed by a long spiral run out to the label.   Typed label  - "The voice of the Inventor of the Gramophone" - and alongside but written in ink the date 1948.

In the run-off are the letters ( hardy visible ) BBC and a number 12RH51705.  Strange as it may seem I think it's pressed in shellac - but it just could be vinyl.   Anyone heard of it ?

Others in the finds - 12" Red Label DECCA of an "Air Battle over the English Channel " during WWII.

Bernard Shaw on Linguaphone.
Gas Shells Bombardment during WWI
Leo Tolstoy on HMV Historic

Any information much appreciated,
