Hugh Martin, who co-wrote "The Trolley Song," "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," and produced vocal arrangements for Broadway shows like "DuBarry Was a Lady," "The Boys from Syracuse," and "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" has died at the age of 96. Martin's partner for much of his career was lyricist Ralph Blane (who died in 1995). Martin was one of the last of the so-called "golden era" of Tin Pan Alley composers of the '30s and '40s.
