I forgot to add that I have a Hugo Dutch language guide. It's undated 
but clearly pre-War (I suspect it's from the late 1920s.) It suggests 
that Scheveningen should be pronounced as "Shave a N*gger." This 
guidance is curiously absent from more recent copies of Hugo Dutch!
