The file labelled 'Stomp And Swerve' is in the correct key of C.
The other is a semitone down in B major - an unlikely and slightly awkward
key for instrumentalists and arrangers.
It's just running slow.
Sophie recorded two versions in the 1920s in the key of C - one with Ted
Lewis, and the other with an unidentified black band.
There is an unissued 1927 version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3heCSPJrO70
which plays in the key of Db. I think it's running fast and should be slowed
down to the key of C.
C is also the 'standard' key for 'Some Of These Days' when called on the
band stand.
Singers understandably often do lower keys later in their careers, and its
possible Sophie did this as well. But in her prime, I'm sure she would have
been very particular about arrangers writing for her in 'her' keys - in this
case, C.

Two versions of one song. Wondering if youse would download, listen, and
be so kind as to offer judgment on whether either
is the correct speed. Thanks!
