While it's not in the same category as Vi(c)trolac, I've had the same feelings 
about MacIntosh.  MacIntosh computers are always called "Mac"s, which is 
understandable, but people also refer to their Mac Amplifiers and Speakers, even 
though the company name is actually McIntosh, (no a).  And the restaurants under 
the double arches which sell Big Macs are actually McDonalds.

Just a thought, I don't expect it to go anywhere.
