Plymouth was Remington's poor relation (there was an even poorer one named Pontiac, if you can believe that) and lots of old Continental material saw new life there. Other labels as well, like the late 40s Crown label.dlOn 2/12/2011 9:33 PM, david.diehl at hensteeth.com wrote:> Plymouth is definitely one of Don Gabor's products> DJD> Visit the Blue Pages: the Encyclopedic Guide to 78 RPM Party Records> http://www.hensteeth.com> -----Original Message-----> From: David Lennick [mailto:dlennick at sympatico.ca]> Sent: Saturday, February 12, 2011 11:10 AM> To: '78L'> Subject: [78-L] Who's this> ?>> I just received a couple of loads of old albums and among them was a ten-inch Plymouth LP "Country Dances". You was expecting maybe Mozart or Schubert? No, this is clearly a reissue from 78s, maybe originally on Continental? No artist credits, only "Vocal with Orchestra Accompaniment". Titles are Wabash Cannonball, Jolie Blonde,> Wreck of the Old 97, When the W ork's All Done This Fall, Eighth of January, The Letter Edged in Black (somebody really liked Dalhart), Baby Sitter and Skip to My Lou. The last two show arranger credits "West-Benedict-Sanders". Any thoughts?dl______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________78-L mailing list78-L at klickitat.78online.comhttp://klickitat.78online.com/mailman/listinfo/78-l> _______________________________________________> 78-L mailing list> 78-L at klickitat.78online.com> http://klickitat.78online.com/mailman/listinfo/78-l>>_______________________________________________78-L mailing list78-L at klickitat.78online.comhttp://klickitat.78online.com/mailman/listinfo/78-l
