[78-L] Early electric ?

I've just played "Rhythm Rag" by Willard Robison's Deep River Four.
Auto 600
Recorded in Chicago in Sptember 1924
To my ears there is no doubt that it was electrically recorded.
I know that Auto made experimental electrics well ahead of the majors.
When did Auto begin making these electrics and am I right about "Rhythm 
Rag?"
