The famous color peacock logo is going away in favor of a text-only NBCUniversal. Wow.
At the bottom of the article I love what two of the comments have to say:
Taking out all the color and personality from their logo perfectly symbolizes what's happened to television programming in general. Completely appropriate. Thanks for truth in logo advertising, NBC!
and
For real? How many millions did they spend bailing on an instantly identifiable logo they have had for decades in exchange for one as bland as a mashed potato sandwich?
Nipper, of course, did come back, but I wonder if the Peacock has the same loyal following. Seems like Nipper was in retirement from 1969 to the Eighties sometime. I kept the clippings somewhere
