At the time, the NY Philh "recorded excessively" for CBS. 
A similar situation; The Columbia/Molajoli complete operas from
La Scala are played by the "Milan Symphony Orchestra" on the
original 78's while the Victor/HMV series have the La Scala Orchestra. 
Current re-issues are all La Scala.

Then there's the Beecham Boheme. Do the EMI CD's still list the "RCA
Symphony Orchestra"?
