Book? Singular? He produced a whole slew of books. I have several
shelves of them, and don't have them all. In general none of them are
really "in-print" but to a varying degree all are available. Put his
name in the search engine of the major on-line book sources. Some are
fairly inexpensive, but some might cost you your first-born. Some, like
Jazz Records and the American Dance Band Discography have been recently
updated, others like British Dance Band Discography and Complete
Entertainment Discography were last updated by himself but are due for
more recent updates.

In general he took the lull in U.S. recording in mid-1942 due to the
Musicians' Union strike as a convenient dividing point in recording
history. But the Columbia Discography cuts off at the sale to ARC in
1931, the British Dance Band Discography cuts off at the end of 1939
right after the beginning of WW II, and the Victor Master Book Vol 2
ends around the point in 1937 where the matrix series numbers restarted
with a leading zero.
