The article mentioned by Mark Bardenwerper and referenced by Doug Pomeroy at http://www.teresaudio.com/haven/cleaner/cleaner.html mentions using isopropol alcohol as part of the mix for cleaning vinyl records.Just in case you are new to 78s, please note that ethyl, methyl or isopropol alcohol will soften or disolve 78 RPM shellac records, and should not be used for cleaning them.Regards Ron Fial_________________________________________________Doug Pomeroy audiofixer at verizon.net wrote on Fri Dec 31 12:43:17 PST 2010 :Very interesting - the article cited below states that Kodak once warned againstusing "Kodaflow" (which is presumably Photo-Flo 2000) for use on phonographrecords. I checked the Kodak web site to see if I could find that warning, butit's not there, probably because both Photo-Flo and Kodak Lens Cleaner arenowhere to be found - both have apparently been discontinued.Just for clarification, the Lens Cleaner (ammonium carbonate) was a cleaner, but the Photo-Flo was simply a wetting agent (surfactant).DOug> Message: 12> Date: Thu, 30 Dec 2010 19:06:24 -0600> From: Mark Bardenwerper <citrogsa at charter.net>> Subject: Re: [78-L] Best way to clean 78s> To: 78-L Mail List <78-l at klickitat.78online.com>> Message-ID: <4D1D2C90.80008 at charter.net>> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed>> http://www.teresaudio.com/haven/cleaner/cleaner.html>> How 'bout this?>> -- > Mark L.
