[78-L] Yet another piece on Christmas Music and the Jews

Kind of an odd article. I would take issue with the writer's description of
Sleigh Ride, Let it Snow, Frosty the Snowman, and Winter Wonderland as
"Christmas songs" unless he imagines that any song which mentions frozen
precipitation must be connected to Christmas.
Some factual errors are well...he refers to Hugh Martin as one of the "late
songwriters." Unless he just passed, that would sure be a surprise to Mr.
Martin, who is still with us at age 96.
The whole premise seemed sort of odd, that there would be anything
remarkable about Jews writing Christmas music...song writers are
professional and there has always been a call for such material. And many
of America's greatest song writers have been Jewish.
Happy Holidays to all from
Taylor
