In the spring of 1944 when many US stars were in uniform or were travelling with various organisations within southern Britain (prior to D-Day) the names of The Andrews Sisters, Dina Shore, James Cagney, Boxer Joe Louis (Barrow), Sam Donahue and the US Navy Band, were heard in Dorset.

You are assuming that the servicemen were in the U.K., but they also
were in North Africa which is where Fred Foy was stationed. He can be
heard as the announcer and sidekick for a touring Jack Benny in some
North African appearances. Foy never was a headliner or a star, he was
an announcer.
