  I file my records , for instance Victor records starting with the oldest by age of the record and go to the latest, left to right. Classical on one shelf and dance popular on another shelf etc. With only 8000 records, I have little problem with this. I play my records a lot so memory is helpful. My odd label collection goes by alphabetical order since I have so few of each. George Anglin

Do you mean the one we've owned the longest, or, for an organized 
collection, the disc in position #1?  In that case, there's be several, as I 
separate by size....
