[78-L] Union Record label/Max Boeckmann.

Hi!

I'm just home from a tour of snowy mainland Europe. While in Vienna, 
I bought some 78s, among which was a 10" operatic ( two arias from Il 
Trovatore) sung by Max Boeckmann on the Union Record label.

This is pretty sure to be a pre-WW1 acoustic recording.

I have never heard of the artiste and know nothing about the label either.

Something about the label and style of the numbers font, suggests to 
me that this is a continental label, despite the design showing and 
eagle and the US flag. For a start, there are only 25 stars on the US 
flag!

Can anyone offer any information about either label or artiste?
