I have numerous Bluebird 78s by Jan Savitt but not that one. What I remember
about Carlotta Dale was that she was in an auto accident in a car driven by
Savitt(according to George T. Simon)
and that she also worked for Will Bradley.I only had a few sides of Savitt on
Decca,"My Heart at
Thy Sweet Voice" and a few featuring Bon Bon.I purchased those in 1994.That was
a great band.

The first and maybe the greatest which comes to mind for me is the Jan
Savitt Decca of "Moonlight Serenade" with a totally 100% magnificent vocal
by Carlotta Dale.  Oh,  she could really sing...other band singers as good,
none better.

I'm also very fond of the HMV record of "Tuxedo Junction" by Ken
"Snakeships" Johnson and his Orch.  Faster tempo,  very catchy,  good solos.

I recall a Goodman Okeh of "Elmer's Tune" as not being very good...and
there's a Dick Jurgens,  which I do like.

Here's an oddity:  One of my fave Miller "records" is only on film,  his
great version of "People Like You and Me" which opens up the movie Orchestra
Wives.  As far as I know,  the only record of it at the time was by Charlie
Spivak on Columbia.  But I think of it as an essential Miller item anyway,
even though he didn't make a commercial record of it.
