[78-L] Pagliacci set on British Columbia

I can't even listen to very much opera WRITTEN in English, but that's my
personal problem with the stuff. Never understand how Britten, Menotti and
Barber could create such beautiful music for solo instruments and orchestra and
then crank out vocal vomit that sounds more like parody than the real thing.
And that's not a flip judgment.

Yes folks, I called it vocal vomit. "Ballad of Baby Doe" is one of the few
operas in English that I find listenable.
