Bechet was dying of cancer when that record came out.He died in February.I
remember that
record as a kid.I liked it although I was never a fan of his clarinet playing.He
wrote the song as

Later..or at least it became a hit later, in January 1959. A Sidney Bechet
version was rushed out in Canada on Regency 78s which I was never able to
source since he'd recorded it several times. Dubbed from an off center 45. Oh
joy.
