I am at a disadvantage by not having a copy or a photo of the disc in
order to see what the "distinctive, non-Victorian" engraved number
looked like.  Do they look obviously like Sonora numbers that would make
them easy to trace back to Sonora once detected?  As I said, since these
were seasonal records, they would disappear from the market in a natural
fashion before the damage had been detected.
