He was also one of my favourites.I never owned "Linda" but I did have his 
Columbia cover of "Baller-
ina" which,I feel,was a better version of Vaughn Monroe's.Another Buddy Clark 
Columbia I have is
his recording of "How Are Things in Glocca Mora" from "Finian's Rainbow.I do 
have a Brunswick 78
with him singing but I would have to back into my filing cabinet to tell you the 
name of the tune and who
the bandleader was.It was a pre-1939 Brunswick.You're right about his looks in 
terms of working in
the movies:he just didn't have it.It's a shame he died so young.Al Hendrickson 
once told me that he was
hired by Ray Noble in 1949 to sing on his Columbia of "Judalein".Al wasn't too 
band a singer either.I
have that one.

Buddy Clark's record of "Linda" with the Ray Noble Orch has always been a 
great fave of my mine.

In addition to his big-selling sides for Columbia in the 40s,  I really 
enjoy his vocals with the Goodman Orch in 1934-35...esp. the Victor of "I'm 
Livin' In a Great Big Way."

I think he has a small role in some 40s movie musical...it might be Seven 
Days' Leave.

I really must disagree with your judgment that "the less said the better"
is an accurate appraisal of his art and popularity Cary.
As we know Buddy was one of the biggest post war singing stars. His record
of "Baby It's Cold Outside" was a huge shlager.
He made hundreds of very good pre WW II sides and I am pleased to have some.
The only reason he wasn't tapped for movie work was that he was anything but
photogenic.
I argue that next to Bing Crosby this guy had what was one of  the best
regarded pop voices in the country.
He just didn't look it.

This was sent to me by Percy Faith's granddaughter, who is a friend of mine.
Does anyone know of a Buddy Clark collector or fan club where these
recordings can be housed?

I have a rather extensive collection of the WW II
  era recordings carefully digitized and preserved with PERFECT handwritten
  titles and times by a gentleman Wally Antuck, who I don’t believe is with
us
  anymore.  Even while he was doing this work I told him I wasn’t the IDEAL
  recipient, to put it mildly, because I’m not at all a fan of vocalists and
  Buddy Clark is from a time when – well the less said the
  better.

  Still, there are probably 50 CD’s full of material
  that Wally carefully restored taken from THE MELODY HOUR, from 16”
  transcription discs.  I’ve done some searching, and there don’t seem to
  be Buddy Clark fans out there.  Wally always said “I’d know what to do
  with these recordings when the time comes” only I do not know!  Your mom
  was uninterested; she mentioned that outside of these shows that to me are
  “chopped up Carnation Contented Hours” meant for the AFRS, at least in
  part.  It’s too long before even I was born (!) in 1952 to understand
  some of these things.

  Though there was a rare instrumental/orchestral
  track or an occasional vocal guest, most shows were strictly Buddy Clark
with
  backings by Percy Faith.

Please contact me if anyone has any leads or interest in this.
