There's a new 78 store in Pittsburgh." You can find out more about the semi-annual Mechanical Music Extravaganza in Wayne, NJ at http://www.antique-sound.com/MME/show.html. The picture on the home page makes it look like the show consists primarily of machine dealers but, in fact, half the table space is usually occupied by dealers of 78s. Info on the annual two-day Jazz Record Collectors' Bash is at www.jazzbash.net. Donley's is a two day annual show in Union, IL. Info is at http://www.wildwesttown.com. You may initially think you've been given the link to an incorrect web site, but scroll down till you see the link Phonograph Show link on the left. There are also 78/45 shows in Allentown, PA, but I don't have the link for info. ... ... As far as the store in Pittsburgh, it's called Jerry's Records in the Penn Hills section. It's been there since 1994. When I visited in May 1995, Jerry had a large stock of 78s recently acquired which he had not, as of then, made available to the public. Not long ago, his son took over running the 78 part of the operation as a separate entity, but more recently, the son folded the separate operation which has now been merged back into the original store. His son still goes on buying trips scouting for 78s. See http://www.jerrysrecords.com. Art
