You mentioned "Popeye,the Sailor Man".Did you ever hear Kay Kyser's "Bell Bottom
Trousers" with
two of his vocalists impersonating Popeye and Olive Oyl?I had it on an album
called "Screwballs of
Swingtime" around 30 years ago.The same album had Charlie Barnet doing "At the
Darktown Strutters'
Ball".It was a very wacky album.I found the original Barnet 78 around 25 years
ago.It was originally
recorded by him on a Purple label Apollo.The flip sde was a good version of
"Caravan".The only other
Apollo recording I owned was a Jewish comedy recording by Fyvish Finkel.I can't
recall the title.
