[78-L] Boris Rose

I had an ARA of Phil Harris as well as a couple of Hoagy Carmichael sides.My 
late friend Patti Hendric-
ckson was at Warner Brotthers then and had mentioned Carmichael's "Memphis in 
June" which I had on
a Hep LP by Boyd Raeburn.I bought that album about 30 years ago.The liner notes 
claimed that Carmic-
hael wanted the transcription of Raeburn with his wife Ginny Powell on the 
vocal.Getting back to ARA,It
was never explained to me about Morros' alleged connections with the 
Communists.Was this McCarthy-
ish paranoia?I had some of Carmichael on Decca and have alot of movies with him 
I ran off onto either
VHS or DVD.My most recent find was "Young Man with a Horn" which is now out of 
print although I
found a DVD copy of it on Amazon.

Morros was also a musical director at Paramount Pictures in the late
thirties. He was also an independent producer.

The artist roster for ARA was an impressive one: Hoagy Carmichael, Art
Tatum, Bob Crosby, Jan Savitt........
