I have a few label images of the (Canadian) HMV Vic/RCA Vic 56-xxxx series, in the
range 56-0002 - 56-0028, mainly by Oscar Peterson.
What is in this series that the issues quoted (56-5438/47) have these high cat.nrs?

The only available image with a high nr is HMV Vic 56-3223 by Buddy Featherstonhaugh.

>>> Can anyone help me date two late Canada only RCA 78s I just acquired.
They were pressed for the Quebecois rock'n'roll audience:

RCA Victor 56-5438 - Charlie Brown (mx.10K2PB-1056) b/w Le Danse des
Printemps (mx.10K2PB-1003)
RCA Victor 56-5447 - Jones c'est Morte - Along Came Jones
(mx.10K2PB-117) b/w Les Trois Cloches (mx.10K2PB-1118)

Both are by Les Jerolas, and the A-sides are of course are covers of
the tracks by the Coasters. My research seems to indiicate 1959. I'd
like to narrow this down to the month if possible. I show that they
had one more relase in 59, cat 57-5458 as a 45 of Une sourire pour
Noel. My guess is that this was a Christmas release and so no 78 exists.

Definitely 1959. (They did a great "Flowers on the Wall" a few years
later. Not on 78.)

Correct title for 56-5447 is 'Jones s'est montré'.
Both are from 1959.

... the other 1959 release, 57-5425 - Yakety Yak / De toi je veux.
I wonder if it safe to say that Jones s'est morte
is from the late summer of 59. I can't imagine
that many of these could be in existance
