Both RCA and Columbia used to take orders twice a year for replacements
of broken records from complete sets. I know that I got a couple for the Schipa
Don Pasquale but can't at the moment check as to whether they had standard
Red Seal or white labels. By placing orders thru a number of different dealers,
it was possible to acquire complete discontinued sets.

Toscanini:
From the NBC days (er, nights) I remember a Beethoven Choral Fantasia, preceding
a Ninth, that I don't believe ever came out on records. At the Met, he conducted at least
25 operas that he did not broadcast and record eventually with the NBC; among others,
the American premiere of Boris and the world premiere of Fanciulla.
Sorry, I don't have NY Philharmonic archives.
