Not to change the subject, but as you are mentioning HMV,why didn't EMI step in
and take over the RCA Victor masters after General Electric bought RCA back in
1985?I used to own a great Pathe
album of Coleman Hawkins with Django Rheinhardt from 1937 that included a great
version of "Hon-
eysuckle Rose" that also featured Benny Carter on alto with great work by
Reinhardt himself.Was Pa-
the connected with EMI?

Subject: [78-L] Flagstad white label discs

I have a pair of HMV white label discs of Kirsten Flagstad singing Schubert
songs. Not in WERM, pressed in England but looking as if they were recorded
elsewhere..in fact these labels are definitely paste-overs. Anyone know
anything about these? No catalogue numbers.

1118/1    Die Allmacht
1118/2    Die Junge Nonne
"G de B" in the wax along with the matrix numbers

1173/1    Dem Unendlichen
1173/2    Der Atlas; Die Kraehe

Not in great shape (varying degrees of edge damage to both discs).
