This is NOT a question that can be answered that easily...?! Virtually all
record companies used the same numbers for 78's and 45's, usually
with the 45's having a prefix indicating the different speed. Cadence,
ABC-Paramount and probably Atco COULD have been issued on 78;
I have seen 78's on the first two labels which date from early 1959
(although these are very probably Canada-only issues?!). Record
companies continued to press 78's mainly for the juke box market
into 1959 here in Canada...!
