I'm trying to figure out two things. What was the last 78 to chart in the
top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and what was the last list that was composed
of all 78s? I know 45s ruled in 1958-59 but a good number of them were
also produced on 78s.

I assume only 78s produced in the US made the Billboard list.

The first Hot 100 list appeared on August 4, 1958.

1. Poor Little Fool/Ricky Nelson/Imperial 5528
2. Patricia/Perez Prado/RCA 7245
3. Splish Splash/Bobby Darin/Atco 6117-have it
4. Hard Headed Woman/Elvis Presley/RCA 7280-have it
5. When/Kalin Twins/Decca 30642
6. Rebel-'Rouser/Duane Eddy/Jamie 1104-have it
7. Yakety Yak/Coasters/Atco 6116-have it
8. My True Love/Jack Scott/Carlton 462
9. Willie and the Hand Jive/Johnny Otis/Capitol 3966
10. Fever/Peggy Lee/Capitol 3998-have it

Can anyone verify that #1,2,5,8,9 appeared on U.S. 78s? This is a starting
place.

And the latest 78 I have is I'm Gonna Get Married/Lloyd Price/ABC-Paramount
10032.

The October 5, 1959 list includes

1. Mack the Knife/Bobby Darin/Atco 6147
2. Put Your Head on My Shoulder/Paul Anka/ABC-Paramount 10040
3. Sleep Walk/Santo & Johnny/Canadian American 103
4. ('Til) I Kissed You/Everly Brothers/Cadence 1369
5. Three Bells/Browns/RCA 7555
6. Teen Beat/Sandy Nelson/Original Sound 5
7. I'm Gonna Get Married/Lloyd Price/ABC-Paramount 10032
8. Mr. Blue/Fleetwoods/Dolton 5
9. Red River Rock/Johnny & the Hurricanes/Warwick 509
10. Poison Ivy/Coasters/Atco 6146

Anybody have any of these on 78?

thanks
