Nor do I! Unfortunately very few of them are without that annoying lip!
About five years ago I saw HP scanner units in so called multifunctional
units (scanner, copier and printer) where plastic surface is aligned with
glass surface. Also the same occurred in early pro scanner standalone units
such as "4" prefix models...
