[78-L] Angel records in Canada

There were any number of instances at different labels where the mono and
stereo miking were different and overseen by different producers (I remember
a number of albums on the Impulse label where both crews were listed).

I produced a recording at the Tower some years ago, and the studio manager
told me that of the three studios, A and B could operate separately each
with its own recording booth, or a wall could be opened up creating one
large room, with the two booths operating together. I imagine that was how
both mono and stereo teams could work separately. Studio C is primarily used
now as a mixdown room; when I was there, Al Schmitt was creating a 5.1
surround mix for a GRP video, and was kind enough to invite me to the
session if I got done early. I regret that he finished before I did.
