I have some label images and the "sound effects" listed are sometimes quite amusing:
4002 incl. "Screech of brakes and crash with women's scream"
4023 - Birds (Jungle Background) / Herd Of Elephants [how do you do that ? - not life, I assume]
4070 - Excited Crowd Voices "Booing, Hissing, Yelling"
5002 - Laughter - Crowd [continuous] - [multitracking the OKeh record??]
5016 - Street Piano Hurdy Gurdy "El Toreador"
5021 - New Year's Noise
5026 - Air Raid (incl. Buildings Crashing)
5165 - Rocket Ship [indeed, radio use]
5159 is Mood Music (Paul Bowles), played by Max Marlin, starting with Eerie Mood
(with Valentino mx on label: TJV-TI-8002)

>>> 5160-A is the disc I have with music by Paul Bowles..quite weird, "played and conducted by Max Marlin" by an ensemble consisting of a terrible violinist or two, a hammond organ (probably) and a few other instruments. "MOOD MUSIC--Pastoral or Dream Thematic Music with Menacing Undertones". If Bowles weren't actually an important American composer this would be a tosser. I wonder if there's any more music by him on Major? (The flip side is harp interludes.)
