Who mentioned Microsoft. There is a big, wide world out there and when one is referring to professional level databases Access is not normally used in the same sentence. Microsoft's SQL server is a different beast though. And Access databases can be read (or at least imported) into many database programs such as MySql using an interface.

Respectfully, focus on the areas that you are proficient in rather than making sweeping statements as fact on those you are not so sure about as it risks misleading others who mistake your authority and set themselves on a dead-end path.
