Excel can/will also import data from text-based data files. If the file is
"random access" (record and field lengths defined, like the "Abrams
Files," the task is simple; however, it can also be done if the "field
seperators" are defined...!

The whole point with dBase is that its *.dbf" files have become a
standard format for data exchange. Sadly actual Access files are
in a "multi-page" digital format; it is effectively impossible to
read or transfer data from an Access file without its "parent"
application!
