For about 10 years I typed out 3x5 cards for each 78 I acquired, and kept 
them
in special "card file boxes" in label-number order. I had about 15-20,000 
cards.
I then started (but didn't finish) another set of cards which listed artist 
and
title for my 78's.

After I finally started using dBase III+, I discovered it was MUCH easier to
re-sort my phonorecord-based files on whichever field I chose...as opposed
to physically resorting 20,000 3x5 cards...?!
