"Hear It Now" debuted in December 1950. Why would anyone even think of using wire at that point, other than revival productions of Death Of A Salesman? There was no second season. It went to TV the following November. And the records inspired the radio show, according to John Dunning (Encyclopedia of Old Time Radio).
